Agent for extermination of unwanted snails;
Agent for extermination of unwanted snails in your aquarium.
Agent for extermination of unwanted snails and other invertebrates which can be introduced into aquariums together with plants or with food caught in the outdoors.
Even in minimum concentration it effectively prevents propagation of hydra.
Caution: During extermination of snails in aquariums it is necessary to proceed with utmost caution, especially if we intend to keep the fish in the aquarium during the process. In warm aquarium water, the bodies of dead snails start to decompose very quickly and they may poison the fish, therefore you must remove the dead snails as often as possible. Together with aquarium plants we may bring into the aquarium slim spindle snails which live stealthily in the bottom layer. Pay particular attention to these, as they are exceptionally difficult to remove after extermination.
Use the dose specified on the container label for the process. The effect of the agent is increased in soft and acidic water! In case of accidental overdose, change 1/2 of the aquarium water volume immediately.
In case of very exceptional abundance of snails, we recommend that you perform the extermination process after you remove the fish from the aquarium. When the fish are put in the substitute tank, provide sufficient filtration and air circulation, but do not feed the fish! It is also advisable to shade the tank, as the fish will settle down sooner. After the extermination process, collect the dead snails carefully, aerate and aspirate the bottom with a bell, and change 1/2 or 3/4 of the aquarium water volume. Then apply proper doses of the agents START+ and BIOFILTR, clean the filtration unit thoroughly and restore the original aquarium values.
Wait for at least 2 or 3 days before returning the fish into the aquarium. There must be no water turbidity. Check the pH and the nitrite content. If all parameters are within specifications, including water temperature, we may let the fish back into the aquarium. Fish sensitive to heavy metals: bottom fish – Ancistrus, Rineloricaria, Sturisoma, Peckoltia, Acanthophthalmus etc. (direct exports, Melanotenia, Tanichthys albonubes).
Return the original decoration gastropods (Ampularia, Marisa) into the aquarium only after a longer period (they may be kept in a substitute tank for an unlimited period of time). Return them into the aquarium gradually and monitor their behaviour. If they lie in one place for a long time, retracted in their shells, it is likely that the water still contains a residual amount of the agent.
You should observe the aquarium for a few more days and measure the above-mentioned values again.
The agent does not harm aquarium plants but it may temporarily suspend their growth.
Observe basic hygienic rules when using this product.
Store in a cool dark place and ALWAYS OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN!
